What is Pain Psychology?

I provide specialised psychology support for people living with chronic pain, persistent pain conditions, and pain-related disability. This includes endometriosis, pelvic pain, migraines, musculoskeletal pain, inflammatory conditions, neuropathic pain, post-surgical pain, and medically unexplained symptoms.

Pain psychology helps you to:

  • Understand the pain–brain connection

  • Reduce pain intensity and flare frequency

  • Improve function and daily capacity

  • Reduce fear–avoidance and pacing issues

  • Regulate your nervous system

  • Manage the emotional toll of chronic pain

  • Rebuild your identity, self-worth and confidence

  • Improve sleep, energy and coping skills

  • Navigate medical systems and advocate for your needs

Therapy integrates CBT, ACT for chronic pain, pacing and graded activity, flare planning, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed approaches. Check out the video below to understand more about the role of your brain and the nervous system in chronic pain.
