The initial session is a space to get to know you, your background, and what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, health and wellbeing history, and what you’d like to focus on in our work together. We’ll begin to develop a shared understanding of your goals and discuss how therapy can best support you.

This depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from a short-term, structured approach (6–10 sessions), while others prefer ongoing therapy for deeper work or long-term health management. We’ll review progress together regularly. I am happy to work with you to pace sessions at a frequency which feels most realistic and supportive to you, whether that be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Many clients find that they are comfortable to transition to less frequent sessions after an initial period of more regular sessions.

Yes. Research shows Telehealth is as effective as in-person therapy for most people. Many clients appreciate the flexibility, privacy, and accessibility it provides.

A strong therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy. I like to have honest conversations with my clients regarding their needs and preferences in a therapist to determine whether we are well suited to work together. These conversations occur throughout the course of therapy so we can check in on how we are working together as a team and anything that needs tweaking. Similarly, if I feel that you would be better suited working with another clinician who is more experienced in the areas of support you need, I will let you know. This is an important part of me working ethically within my scope of practice.
